Office of Finance and Control Purpose: Directs and administers the overall operations of the Division of Oceania
Health Services. Establishes Division goals and objectives, monitors compliance with standards, policies, regulations, and procedures
for effective and efficient management of aid and locally funded programs and services. Provides recommendations for policy development
in the areas of healthcare services and its delivery system. Through organized community effort and applied scientific and technical
knowledge, working toward the prevention and control of diseases and promoting health throughout the region. Administers the procurement
and distribution of medical supplies and consumables and provides compilation and administration of tenders. |

Office of Vital Statistics |
|
Purpose:
Install, maintain and operate the system of Vital Statistics for the region. The Office collects, reviews, amends, registers, certifies
and preserves records of vital events, and tabulates, analyzes and publishes statistical data derived from such records. |

Office of
Planning and Evaluation |

Purpose: Develops and evaluates the Strategic Plan and the Health Information System Development
Plan for the region . Conducts studies to identify health problems in the community and provides statistical and demographic information
to assist in grant preparation, program assessment, and health policy development. |

Office of Epidemiology and Research and Cancer Registry |
|
Purpose:
Conduct disease surveillance and monitor activities to prevent and/or identify health problems. Provide assistance to health service
programs in the control of diseases of public health significance. |

Behavioural Risk Factor Survey System |
|
Measures
the health risk behaviour of the adult population of the region. Data from the survey is used by programs in the development of activities
geared toward reducing risky behaviours and increasing preventive and protective behaviours to improve the health of the population. |

Public
Health Preparedness and Response to Bioterrorism |
|
Purpose: Develop, implement and/or augment the public health
capacity to respond to the threat of bioterrorism. Focus areas include Preparedness Planning and Readiness Assessment, Surveillance
and Epidemiologic Capacity, Laboratory Biologic Capacity, Health Alert Network/Communication and Information Technology, Communicating
Health Risks and Health Information Dissemination, and Education and Training. |

Emergency Medical Services |

Purpose:
Provide for and maintain an effective pre-hospital emergency medical services system, including the necessary personnel, equipment
and facilities to ensure that all emergency patients receive prompt and adequate medical care throughout the range of emergency conditions. |

Purpose: Provide for the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective
pre-hospital emergency medical services system, specific to the unique needs of children, to ensure that all paediatric emergency

Purpose: Provides for the planning, development, coordination, evaluation, implementation,
and direction of programs related to communicable disease control and prevention. These programs include Foreign Quarantine/Enteric
Disease Control program, Immunization program, STD/HIV Control and Prevention program, and the Tuberculosis/Hansen's Disease Control
program. |

STD/HIV Prevention |

Purpose:
Responsible for the prevention and control of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS through services such as voluntary and confidential
STD/HIV prevention counselling, treatment, partner notification referral, surveillance, epidemiologic contact interviews and follow-up
on all STD morbidities reported. Technical assistance and training for health professionals and community agencies is provided to
strengthen collaboration in the prevention and control of STD/HIV, health education risk reduction interventions to targeted populations
such as outreach, individual/group interventions and public information |

Immunization |
|
Purpose: Provides educational
information to increase awareness of the importance of immunizations in the control of vaccine preventable diseases. Provides for
the planning, development , coordination, evaluation, implementation, and direction for Immunization programs. These include the Immunization
Action Plan program, Hepatitis B prenatal and perinatal program, Vaccines for Children program, the Adolescent/Adult Immunization
program and the Immunization Registry program. |

Bureau of Community Health Services |

Purpose: Provides for the
management and administrative support for the Chronic Disease Prevention and Control program, the Dental Health section, the Health
Education section, the Nutrition Health Services section. |

Health Education Program Tobacco prevention and control program |
|
Purpose:
Provide health promotion program services addressing health risk factors and positive healthy behaviours such as wellness, prevention
and control of unintentional injuries, tobacco prevention and control, physical fitness, youth-related health. To increase the quality
and years of healthy life through health promotion, health education, surveillance and monitoring, community outreach and health screening
and evaluation. |

Community Health Services/Dental Health Section |

Purpose: Provide for the oral health of the regions
children by providing preventive dental services to those below the age of 17 years, basic dental treatment for eligible low income
children and to provide emergency dental care for the relief of pain for senior citizens 55 years and older. |

Disease Prevention and Control |

Purpose: Plan and coordinate health intervention activities that include increasing
the awareness of preventable risk factors that can reduce morbidity and mortality due to chronic diseases such as heart disease, hypertension,
cancer and diabetes. |

|
Purpose: Provide nutrition education,
consultation, in-service training, counselling and administration of the Special Supplemental Nutrition for Women, Infants and Children. |

Breast
and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program |

Purpose: To increase the regular use of cancer screening and
diagnostics services to women. To provide for public education and outreach; to provide for a system of referral, follow-up, tracking
surveillance, monitoring and case management; to provide for professional education on screening, rescreening, and diagnostic procedures
